
Cathy Merchut-Kruger, LCSW
Catherine “Cathy” (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with nearly two decades of experience in the human services and mental health field. She earned her Master’s in Social Work from Aurora University in Illinois and has provided counseling in both school and hospital settings, supporting individuals and families through life’s challenges.
Cathy has expertise in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, and attention issues. She also helps those navigating relationship conflicts, caregiver fatigue, grief, and other life-changing transitions. In addition, she offers education and support for individuals and families impacted by ADHD and Autism.
Her therapeutic approach is person-centered, drawing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and eclectic techniques tailored to each client’s unique needs. She uses a strengths-based and solution-focused framework that encourages self-understanding, confidence, and personal growth. Cathy believes in the power of humor, collaboration, and practical tools to help clients reach their goals.
Outside of work, Cathy enjoys spending time with her family, trying new foods, traveling, and reading a good book.
