Alicyne King-Washington, Resident In Counseling
Hi, I’m Alicyne King-Washington, and I believe therapy should feel like a safe space where you can show up fully as yourself — without judgment, pressure, or the expectation to have everything figured out. Life can feel overwhelming at times, especially while navigating anxiety, self-doubt, transitions, relationships, motherhood, or simply trying to balance the many roles you carry. My goal is to help clients feel supported, empowered, and understood as they move toward healing and growth.
I specialize in working with adolescents (ages 11–16) and adult women navigating emotional challenges, identity development, self-esteem concerns, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and perinatal/postpartum experiences. I understand that every person’s story and healing journey is unique, which is why I take a collaborative and individualized approach to therapy.
My therapeutic style is person-centered, strength-based, and compassionate. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness practices, perinatal therapy, and art therapy interventions to help clients develop healthy coping skills, increase self-awareness, and reconnect with their strengths. I strive to create an environment where clients feel emotionally safe, heard, and encouraged to grow at their own pace.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy motherhood, drinking coffee, journaling, listening to good music, and finding joy in the small moments of everyday life. I believe healing can coexist with softness, creativity, and genuine human connection.
